Hike For Hope Supports the Micah Challenge
Date added: May 6th, 2005

The MICAH Challenge is a new global Christian campaign developed jointly by the World Evangelical Alliance and the Micah Network to raise a prophetic and powerful voice for and with the poor. The goals of the Micah Challenge are:
* To mobilise Christians worldwide to influence national and international policies affecting key poverty areas; and
* To significantly increase the involvement of Christians in action for the poor and with the poor.
The campaign will target policy change at all levels needed to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), a universally agreed roadmap towards the halving of key poverty indicators by 2015. In Australia the campaign will work cooperatively and in support of the ACFID “Make Poverty History" campaign that is focusing on the contribution by the Australian Government towards achieving the MDGs.
